Everton Fans React as Ronald Koeman Admits He’s Not Confident of Keeping Ross Barkley

Everton boss Ronald Koeman made a frank assessment on the future of midfielder Ross Barkley this afternoon, admitting he’s not confident of keeping the player as he takes his time considering a new deal.

The England international has a year remaining on his current contract, however Barkley is yet to put pen to paper and renew terms with the Premier League side.

And with Koeman telling Sky Sports News eight days ago that the 23-year-old had a week to decide where he would be playing next season, the two parties appear to have reached a stalemate.

The Dutchman has since conceded that he isn’t confident of keeping the Liverpool-born star, as per BBC Sport reporter Juliette Ferrington:

Barkley’s departure would surely be a sore one for the Goodison Park faithful, especially with recent reports linking Chelsea, Tottenham and Manchester United with the player.

And it didn’t take fans long to react to Koeman’s comments:
