Fan Puts £100 on Chelsea to Win Title Thinking He’d Found SkyBet Mistake.. He Hadn’t

A fan put £100 on Chelsea to win the Premier League title AFTER they secured it because he thought he’d found a mistake by SkyBet.

But it turned out he was the one making the mistake, not realising that their 3/1 offer on Chelsea to win the league was for the 2017/18 season and not the 2016/17 campaign we’re coming to the end of.

As can be seen from the exchange with his friend, Cameron Powell noticed the offer online and decided to get on it quick as he thought it was a mistake.

He asks his pal Joe if Chelsea have won the league – appealing for the conviction he needed to put the bet on.

But he quickly realised it was an error and the text conversation is a brilliant summary of how things went down:

As you can see, the tweet has proven very popular with football fans, with plenty taking great pleasure in Cameron’s £100 mistake.

That said, he could end up having the last laugh if Chelsea go on to win back-to-back Premier League titles by being crowned champions next season.

Michy Batshuayi’s goal was enough to give them a 1-0 win over West Brom on Friday night and secure the title for the Stamford Bridge club.

Now they have two games remaining in the league before they take on Arsenal in the FA Cup final later this month.
