The English midfielder will leave the club when his contract expires this summer, ending his six-year spell at the Parkhead side.
He scored 91 goals in 226 appearances and won eight trophies in his time as a Celtic player – and will be remembered as one of the most popular stars of recent time.
But Commons’ time as a Hoops player is over and he made his final farewell to 60,000 supporters inside the club’s stadium when he played in the Henrik’s Heroes v Lubo’s Legends charity match.
The midfield man – who didn’t play for Celtic all season – got a runout for both teams in the game and he seemed delighted to link up with club legend Henrik Larsson:
Last ever game for Celtic and played up top with the KING! Does it get better? ???? pic.twitter.com/ETGnU47JOX

What a year and what a day. Was a pleasure and honour to represent this club over the last 6 years but this week has been the most enjoyable time to be part of this magical club. #invincibles #treblewinners #lisbonlions Doesn't get better than to see the club you love getting better and better. Thanks to everyone that's gave me the greatest memories. I will never forget what this club has given me. Will forever be in debt 🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🏆🏆🏆🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀
Commons has a short emergency loan spell at Hibs during the season and could end up at Easter Road again this summer – linking up with former manager Neil Lennon.
Celtic fans – are you sad to see Commons go?
