Maurizio Pochettino Signs New Tottenham Contract

Maurizio Pochettino has signed a new contract at Tottenham – but it’s not the one you’re thinking of.

Mauricio (notice that c instead of a z) is the Spurs manager and his son Maurizio is his son, who is in the club’s youth academy.

So Tottenham fans can calm down – their manager will still be linked with moves elsewhere after another impressive season at the club.

As for his son Maurizio, he’s signed a scholarship deal at the club after doing well for the club’s youth teams.

He’s a 15-year-old goalkeeper so won’t follow in his dad’s footsteps as a cultured defender. But his new deal means he could be in the first team playing under his dad in the future.

Pochettino junior posted this photo to Instagram earlier:

Tottenham are covered well at goalkeeper with Hugo Lloris supported by Michel Vorm – so Maurizio will have some quality players to learn from when he goes full-time at the start of next season.

As for Pochettino, he’ll be hoping he can hold on to the rest of his quality players as they build for another Premier League title push next season.

The Argentine has a young, talented squad, led by Harry Kane and Dele Alli and he’ll be doing well to hold on to them as top clubs consider moves this summer.

But if he can, you’ll fancy Spurs to be up at the top of the Premier League competing this time next year.
