There’s Little Sympathy For David Moyes as He Resigns at Sunderland

David Moyes has today resigned as the manager of Sunderland – and you probably won’t be surprised to know there’s little love lost for him on social media.

The former Everton and Manchester United boss took charge of the Black Cats at the beginning of the season, but a lack of funds and form saw the club quickly pulled into a relegation battle and they were eventually relegated as the Premier League’s bottom club.

Sunderland have been knocking on the door of relegation for several years now, and you could argue Moyes was merely unlucky to be in the drivers seat when the car went over the cliff.

But just a mere glance at Twitter underlines just how much his detractors don’t see it that way:

You get the idea.

Sunderland will now begin the hunt for a new manager to try and guide them back to the top-flight as soon as possible – but where does this leave Moyes? Will he manage a big club again any time soon?
