Video: Bayern Munich Unveil the Home Kit That Philipp Lahm Will Only Wear Once

Bayern Munich unveiled their new home kit this afternoon before revealing the players will wear it against SC Freiburg on Saturday.

Their match against Freiburg will pull the curtain down on yet another Bundesliga triumph for Bayern, who have lifted the league title for the fifth consecutive year.

However, there will also be a pinch of sadness in the air at the Allianz Arena, as both captain Philipp Lahm and midfielder Xabi Alonso will both retire after the final whistle.

That means Alonso and Lahm will only get to wear the new kit once, which is inspired by the legendary Bayern side of the 1970’s, before the pair hang up their boots.

Lahm spoke to the club’s official Twitter page this afternoon, following his second last training session as a Bayern player:

Lahm has won eight Bundesliga titles, six German Cups, the Champions League and the World Cup during an illustrious career which has often seen him heralded as the greatest full-back in the world.
