Daniel Sturridge got an assist to add to his goal against Sydney FC this morning.
The English striker was named in the starting XI as Jurgen Klopp’s men face the A-League champions at the ANZ Stadium.
And he showed he’s looking sharp as he got a goal inside the first 10 minutes and then set up Firmino to net shortly before half-time.
Sturridge’s goal was the product of some nice footwork in the box and he twisted and turned in pretty much the exact same way to set up Firmino for his goal too.
Alberto Moreno and Firmino combined for Liverpool’s second goal, but the third was arguably just as good:
Unfortunately for Syndey, Liverpool have a strong squad out, despite including the now retired duo of Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher.
So the Aussie champions look like they’ll continue to find it tough during the second half.
Liverpool will remain in Australia for a few days to engage in promotional activities with fans before flying back to the UK for their summer holidays.
