Daniel Sturridge’s nice finish put Liverpool 1-0 up against Sydney FC this morning.
The Anfield side are out in Australia to play against the A-League champions, with some club legends also included in the team.
While Philippe Coutinho, Sadio Mane, Jordan Henderson and some other first teamers have been left behind, Dejan Lovren, Adam Lallana and Sturridge are among the travelling party.
And they’re added to by Steven Gerrard, Jamie Carragher, Daniel Agger and a number of top former players in Jurgen Klopp’s squad.
So it’s bound to be entertaining for any Liverpool fans watching in the stadium and across the world.
Sturridge got Klopp’s Reds off to the perfect start inside 15 minutes when he fired into the bottom corner to open the scoring:

Surely we’ll see Gerrard and Sturridge link up for a goal at some stage?
Liverpool will stay in Australia for a few days, engaging in several promotions with fans before flying back to the UK and separating for the summer break.
