Gordon Strachan has announced his Scotland squad for the crucial forthcoming 2018 World Cup qualifier against England, and has explained why he’s omitted Oliver Burke.
The RB Leipzig winger is regarded as one of the country’s hottest properties having played a part in the Bundesliga new boys securing entry to next season’s Champions League at the first attempt.
Burke has been left out of Scotland teams unexpectedly by Strachan previously, and he wasn’t named in today’s selection for the showdown at Hampden on June 10.
You’d have thought you’d need all available weapons at your disposable for a must-win match like this one, but Strachan doesn’t see it that way, as he explained earlier today:

Gordon Strachan- It's unfair of us to expect that much of Oliver (Burke) when he's not getting regular games. https://t.co/dPOIMfmU3X— Sky Sports Scotland (@ScotlandSky) May 22, 2017
Also missing from the squad is in-form Celtic midfielder Callum McGregor, and Aberdeen’s Graeme Shinnie, which caused an uproar amongst supporters, as we told you earlier.
But what do you make of Burke’s omission? Are Scotland really in a position to be leaving out potential match-winners?
