Jack Aitchison scored as Scotland‘s Under 17s team won their European Championships opening game against Faroe Islands yesterday.
The Celtic youngster may have been in with a chance of getting some game time as the Hoops give several key players a rest in their remaining league games before the Scottish Cup Final against Aberdeen at the end of the month.
But he won’t be around because of international duty with the Under 17s in Croatia.
Scot Gemmill’s young team kicked off their campaign yesterday with the 2-0 victory over minnows Faroe Islands and it was Aitchison who put the shine on a polished performance.
Innes Cameron opened the scoring for the Scots before Aitchison added a tidy second:

Aitchison is Scotland’s captain and, given he’s already played for Celtic at the age of 16, he’s on course to star for club and country in the future.
Scotland play Hungary in their next group game on Saturday before facing France in their final match next week – and they’ll then be hoping to have done enough to make the knockout phase.
