Leigh Griffiths continued his excellent recent form tonight by scoring from the penalty spot, and ensuring Celtic reached the tally of scoring an incredible 100 league goals this season.

With the Scottish Premiership and League Cup already in the bag, the Hoops are really just preparing for the Scottish Cup final against Aberdeen at the end of the month, and Brendan Rodgers chose to rest both of his first-choice full-backs tonight at Partick Thistle.

But it didn’t seem to make much of a difference to the team’s performance, with the visitors dominating from the off.

Patrick Roberts and his jinking feet looked dangerous in the opening stages, and it was him who was brought down inside the penalty area after just 17 minutes, and Griffiths took care of the spot-kick:

There was no real debate about the decision to award the penalty, and, remarkably, that’s Griffiths’ 40th goal from his last 46 league starts.

What an incredible record, eh?
