It’s been a rough few years for Newcastle United supporters, but things seem to be looking up – as one unfortunate worker at the Sunderland ticket office found out earlier today.
This time last year, The Magpies were staring down the barrel of relegation to The Championship, with the club’s financial future uncertain, but fast-forward 12 months and it’s their bitter rivals Sunderland who are heading for the drop.
David Moyes’s side were officially relegated earlier this month, along with fellow North East side Middlesbrough – all around the same time as Rafa Benitez was guiding Newcastle back to their rightful place in the top-flight.
These lads certainly enjoyed the opportunity to stick the boot into the staff over at the Stadium of Light:

It might be a little bit of an old one, and definitely unoriginal, but it definitely still got a smile out of us.
How do you think a rejuvenated Newcastle will fare next season?
