Video: Oliver Burke Scores Twice…But Scotland Lose Opening Toulon Match

Oliver Burke showcased his burning talent this afternoon in France but he couldn’t prevent Scotland’s Under-20 side from crashing to defeat in their opening match in the Toulon Tournament.

With a daunting fixture against Brazil looming on the horizon, it was important the Scots took something from today’s match with the Czech Republic, and things got off to a bright start when Burke scored a brilliant solo goal inside the opening 90 seconds.

But Ondrej Chveja made it 1-1 after 35 minutes and Ondrej Sasinka completed the turnaround just after half-time to make it 2-1 to the Czechs.

However, Scotland rallied, and after a sustained period of pressure, Burke was presented an opportunity from the penalty spot and he duly took it:

Martin Graiciar made it 3-2 to the Czech Republic and Scotland couldn’t find another response, meaning the remaining two group matches against the Brazilians and Indonesia have just become a lot more important.
What do you think of the result? And should Burke be in the senior squad?
