Video: Paul Merson Pleads For David Dein’s Return During ArsenalFanTV Appearance

He might be best known these days as a Sky Sports pundit, but Paul Merson was once one of Arsenal‘s best players, and it seems the former midfielder still cares a lot about his former club.

The analyst better known to Sky viewers as ‘Merse’ joined ArsenalFanTV presenter Robbie following an after dinner speaking event last night, and during his brief interview, the former England international pleaded for the return of David Dein to the North London club.

Moreover, as you’ll see in the clip below, Merson quite openly calls for Arsene Wenger to quit the club and end his two-decade stint at the Gunners – before he ruins his legacy entirely.

And perhaps the most damning comment of all is that only one current Arsenal player would get into Tottenham’s swashbuckling side:

We have absolutely no idea if Wenger will head for pastures new this summer, but we’re pretty convinced David Dein isn’t about to suddenly come out of retirement to save the day.

What do you think of Merson’s comments?
