Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez Shows Fans His Badly Swollen Ankle After Chile Victory

Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez revealed to fans just how much he’s been playing through the pain barrier recently, after posting a photo of his ankle following Chile’s win over Cameroon yesterday.

The forward has struggled with ankle problems throughout most of last season, but some supporters would’ve been surprised to see him on the bench for the South American side’s 2-0 opening win in the Confederations Cup last night.

Sanchez came on as a second-half substitute, and if he was in any kind of discomfort, he didn’t look it.

His blistering pace and skill allowed him to take the ball around the Cameroon keeper, only to see his shot blocked on the line, and finished off by his team-mate Eduardo Vargas.

But after the match, Sanchez’s body looked like it had taken a bit of a beating on his Instagram story:

What do you think of the picture? Should top stars like Sanchez be given more time off during the summer to recover from a long domestic campaign?
