Celtic Fans Seem Split on Jonny Hayes Signing From Aberdeen

Celtic fans seem split on Jonny Hayes being a good signing after his move from Aberdeen was confirmed.

The Hoops today announced that they’d completed the signing of the Irish winger on a three-year deal.

He joins after a very impressive season personally, in which he scored 10 goals and made 13 assists as Aberdeen finishing second in the Premiership and lost to Celtic in both the Betfred Cup and the Scottish Cup.

Brendan Rodgers worked with Hayes at Reading earlier in his career and appears to have seen enough from his first season in Scotland to make the winger his first signing of the summer.

But Celtic fans appear split on Hayes’ arrival.

Some are prepared to trust Rodgers’ decision while others believe he’s not good enough to take Celtic forward in the Champions League next term.

Here’s some of the positive reaction to Hayes’ signing:

But not everyone agrees with the signing – and some have taken to social media to share their belief that the club should be looking to recruit better than Hayes:

So what’s the verdict – is he a good or bad signing for Celtic?
