Man Utd Fans Watching Michael Carrick Testimonial Want Paul Scholes Re-Signed

He might have retired a few years ago but Paul Scholes has been showing fans this afternoon that he still possesses the pin-point accuracy that was a hallmark of his trophy-laden playing days.

The Manchester United legend is back at Old Trafford this afternoon to play a part in former team-mate Michael Carrick’s testimonial match against an All Star team, and Scholesy looked like he was still good enough to be playing in the Premier League.

Starting alongside Darren Fletcher in the centre of midfield for the United side, Scholes had fans watching at home drooling with his long, looping passes that still seem to land exactly where he wants them to.

Without question, the 42-year-old was the name on everybody’s lips throughout his impressive first-half performance:

We think it’s probably unlikely that Jose Mourinho is about to re-sign Paul Scholes any time soon, but just imagine if he did.

The odds on United winning the Premier League next season would shorten dramatically.

What a legend!
