Hector Bellerin has promised to donate £50 for every minute he plays in the Under 21 European Championships to the victims of the Grenfell Tower fire.
The Arsenal defender is in the Spain squad for the tournament in Poland, which kicked off yesterday with Sweden’s Group A draw against England.
Spain will kick their campaign off tonight when they take on Macedonia in Group B – and if it all goes well for Bellerin, he could end up contributing as much as £22,500 to the fund for the victims.
The world has been in mourning again since a huge fire burned through Grenfell Tower, in Kensington, London, in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Thirty people have been confirmed dead after the awful incident, with a further 70 remaining unaccounted for, and the death toll is expected to rise well above that.
The Grenfell Tower appeal has already raised over £1.4million and Bellerin’s donation will only add to what hundreds of thousands are planning to give to help those affected:

That’s a great gesture from Bellerin – and one which will no doubt be appreciated by those affected by Wednesday’s tragic events.
