Manchester United Fans Are Furious With Steven Gerrard’s Punditry Tonight

Steven Gerrard and Manchester United fans have never enjoyed a particularly close relationship, but the former Liverpool captain was taking more stick than usual during the Champions League final.

Gerrard was appearing as a BT Sport pundit alongside former United centre-back Rio Ferdinand and presenter Gary Lineker for the glamour tie between Juventus and Real Madrid in Cardiff, and was asked before kick-off about where the Spanish giants could improve.

To the annoyance of United fans everywhere, Gerrard pointed out that goalkeeper Keylor Navas is really the only non-world class player in their ranks – and then suggested David de Gea would be the perfect replacement.

To make matters worse, Gerrard repeated the claim after the final whistle, and it certainly didn’t go unnoticed by Red Devils supporters at home:

To be fair, isn’t Gerrard merely just pointing out the obvious? We all know Real want de Gea – but will they get him?

What do you think?
