Mario Gotze’s Instagram Shows He’s On Road to Recovery After Myopathy Diagnosis

Mario Gotze’s social media activity suggests he could be on his way back to full fitness after he was diagnosed with a rare muscular disorder earlier this year.

The Germany international made just 16 appearances for Borussia Dortmund during a season that was originally scripted as a jubilant homecoming, following his return from Bayern Munich.

However, in March, the 25-year-old was ruled out for the rest of the season after he was diagnosed with Myopathy – a disease which causes weakness and rapid fatigue in the muscles.

After such a substantial spell on the sidelines, there were of course question marks surrounding Gotze’s future.

Would he be able to replicate the form that saw him score the winning goal in the 2014 World Cup final? Would he ever be able to play for der BVB again?

Luckily, it now appears, thanks to the player’s Instagram account, that Gotze will make a full recovery and could even be back in training in time for next season:

Here’s hoping Gotze can get back to his best on the pitch and finally fulfil the potential that saw Germany boss Joachim Low make a comparison with Lionel Messi.
