Mohamed Salah Could Take Roberto Firmino’s Squad Number at Liverpool

Mohamed Salah‘s protracted move to Liverpool edges closer day by day, and it looks as though the Egyptian winger could be about to take Roberto Firmino‘s squad number when he arrives at Anfield.

The Roma midfielder looks set to complete a transfer to the Reds any day now, with a fee of around £35 million agreed between the clubs and a medical supposed to have taken place.

We told you earlier this week how it looked like Salah would be wearing No.9 next season – despite it being somewhat ‘cursed’ by the form of flops like Andy Carroll and Christian Benteke.

But, according to the usually reliable Spion Kop, Salah will inherit the No.11 jersey, with Roberto Firmino transfering to the No.9:

When you think about their positions, it does tend to make sense, as 11 is definitely more of a winger’s number, and 9 is usually reserved for central strikers, like Firmino.

But what about everybody whose already bought a Liverpool shirt with Firmino 11 on the back?!

What do you think?
