Monaco’s Soualiho Meite Might Be Good News For Chelsea’s Tiemoué Bakayoko Bid

Monaco‘s signing of Soualiho Meite could turn out to be a boost for Chelsea and their interest in Tiemoué Bakayoko.

The French club are at the centre of plenty of transfer speculation this summer after winning Ligue 1 against the odds last season.

There are several stars in Leonardo Jardim’s squad who appear to be interesting top clubs keen to strengthen their squad during the off-season.

Kylian Mbappe leads the way among those, closely followed by Fabinho, Thomas Lemar and Bakayoko.

Bakayoko has regularly been linked with Chelsea, but so far no deal has been agreed between the French and English champions.

But could we be nearer to one now after Monaco signed Meite this afternoon?

The French midfielder joins the club from Zulte-Waregem and all signs point towards him being a replacement for Bakayoko whenever he decides to leave the club:

Could his signing signal a breakthrough for Chelsea in their pursuit of Bakayoko? We think so.

The commanding midfielder played 47 times for Monaco as they won the league and went to the semi-finals of the Champions League and proved in those games that he’s capable of playing regularly at a high level.

But will it be for Chelsea? Only time will tell.
