Rangers midfielder Niko Kranjčar has admitted he and his team-mates will need a bit of luck if they’re to reach the group stages of next season’s Europa League.

After almost a six-year absence, the Gers return to European action this Thursday night at Ibrox against FC Progrès Niederkorn of Luxembourg, in the first qualifying round of the Europa League.

In total, they’ll need to get through a sizeable four qualifying stages, including a potentially tricky tricky play-off tie against some big teams from on the continent in August.

But in an interview with Rangers TV, Kranjčar is confident of overcoming the task, whilst admitting they might need a touch of good fortune on route:

What do you think of his comments, and how important is European football to a club of Rangers’ size and stature?

And, realistically, how far can Rangers progress in this season’s competition?
