Video: Charlie Adam Recalls His Bizarre First Meeting With Kenny Dalglish

Charlie Adam has recalled his bizarre first meeting with Kenny Dalglish before he signed for Liverpool – with the legendary striker greeting him in his pyjamas.

Back in 2011, Adam was a wanted commodity in English football, and could’ve had his pick of clubs after a stellar spell with Blackpool.

The Scotland international opted for Liverpool, who were managed by Dalglish at the time, but he wasn’t expected to be invited to his house whilst Dalglish was in his pyjamas and making tea.

Now with Stoke City, the 31-year-old has been telling the tale to Open Goal’s Simon Ferry, as part of his extended interview with the midfielder:

It’s easy for this generation to forget just how prolific and incredible a player Dalglish was, so sitting in his living room discussing tea, biscuits and golf must’ve been a surreal experience for Adam and his agent.

Unfortunately, Adam’s spell on Merseyside didn’t really work out, but he’ll always have the memory of King Kenny in his pyjamas.

What do you think of the anecdote?
