Video: Cristiano Ronaldo Provides Sublime Assist For Ricardo Quaresma

Cristiano Ronaldo put a week of transfer speculation behind him this afternoon by setting up Portugal‘s opening goal of the Confederations Cup in exquisite style.

In case you’ve been living under a rock for the last few days or so, you’ll know by now that the Real Madrid superstar has reportedly told the club he wants to leave this summer, with Manchester United a possible destination.

But if Ronaldo was subdued or distracted, he certainly didn’t show it today against Mexico.

After FIFA’s VAR had been used to rule out Portugal’s opener through Pepe, Ronaldo skipped clear down the left-hand side, and just when it looked like he’d lost control of the ball, he picked a pass out of absolutely nowhere to find an unmarked Quaresma:

Not too bad, eh?

Of course, Ronaldo doesn’t have to prove anything to anybody, but when you’re in the shop window, every little helps.

What do you think of the goal?
