Gary Neville returned to the Old Trafford pitch this afternoon for Michael Carrick’s testimonial and he managed to come up with one of the worst shots in the history of football.
The Sky Sports pundit started on the bench for a Manchester United 2008 select and was saved for the second-half against an All Star side which included his Sky Sports sparring partner Jamie Carragher.
He’d only been on for a matter of minutes when suddenly things opened up for Neville, who was hardly known for his goal-scoring prowess during his playing days.
He wound up his right foot and sent it smashing through the ball, but the end result wasn’t really much to write home about:
Judging by his smile, he knows exactly how much stick he’ll be getting from Carragher when they work together again next season.
But is that really the out-and-out worst shot in the history of football? We reckon it might be up there, what do you think?
