Thiago Silva headed home Brazil‘s second goal against Australia this afternoon.
The Paris Saint-Germain defender was named in the Selecao starting XI for the trip to play the Socceroos at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
And he’s heading for a perfect game, with Brazil 2-0 up, heading for a clean sheet and with the defender on the scoresheet after Diego Souza’s early opener for the visitors.
It was almost David Luiz who got the second goal as his header crashed off the crossbar at a corner.
But Rodrigo Caio headed the ball back across goal on the rebound and Silva was on hand to head home:
That’s Silva’s first Brazil goal this year and has them on their way to a comfortable victory against Australia.
The PSG man had to spend some time away from the national team after being frozen out by previous boss Dunga, but he’s been restored to the squad under Tite and appears to be keen to make up for lost time.
