Amanda Nunes Hospitalized, Title Fight Cancelled

UFC Women’s Bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes has been hospitalized just hours before her scheduled title fight at UFC 213.

Nunes’ defense against Valentina Shevchenko, itself a replacement for a T.J. Dillashaw/Cody Garbrandt Bantamweight title fight, has been replaced by Yoel Romero vs. Robert Whittaker in the main event slot.

This leaves the show with no title fights, meaning that another International Fight Week ends with a chaotic reshuffling of the card, though this is nowhere near as bad as last year’s UFC 200 fiasco.

There is no report confirming what medical ailment Nunes is facing, but hopefully the champion makes a speedy recovery.

Stay locked on for updates as they become available.
