Andy Robertson is a year ahead of schedule as he gets set to sign for Liverpool.

The Scottish left-back is on the verge of completing a reported £8million move from Hull to Anfield.

And he looks set to become Jurgen Klopp’s first choice left-back, ending years of issues with a quality player at that position in the Liverpool team.

It’s the biggest move of Robertson’s career and would complete a meteoric rise through the ranks to play at the highest level in one of the best leagues in the world.

Just four years ago he was playing for Queen’s Park in the bottom tier of Scottish football – and it was in 2013 that he spoke to thescottishsun.co.uk‘s Kenny Millar about where he’ll be in five years:

So he’s one year ahead of schedule as it’ll be difficult for him to get any higher in his career. Fair play to Robertson for that answer though – it’s very impressive to see what he’s done.

Liverpool should be set to announce Robertson’s capture over the next two days and he could make his debut for the club in their friendly away at Hertha Berlin next week.
