The Arsenal attacker spoke in Chile earlier this week about having made his decision on his future and how it was now in the hands of the club as to where he plays.
Sanchez followed that up by saying: “My idea is to play and win the Champions League, it is a dream I have had since I was little.”
And some believe that’s an indication that he wants out of Arsenal this summer, given they will be playing Europa League football this season.
Wenger’s men have already played in the Australian leg of their pre-season tour and will now play Bayern Munich in Shanghai before taking on Chelsea in Beijing – all without Sanchez, who continues his holiday in his homeland.
But the Frenchman doesn’t seem worried about his absence or his comments. According to the Frenchman, he didn’t mean what he said:
Wenger plays down Alexis Sanchez saying he wants Champions League football: "What I got, he didn't really mean that."

Is Wenger right or is he displaying more ignorance in his role as Arsenal boss?
Sanchez’s future is a serious talking point and fans believe they’re in danger of losing him after a very disappointing season which saw them miss out on a Champions League place.
If that was to happen, it would do little to calm the frustration of fans – and Wenger would undoubtedly face more criticism in the wake of it.
