Dean Windass Defends Son Josh on Twitter…Rangers Fans Having None of it

Dean Windass has jumped to the defence of his son Josh on social media, following his part in Rangers‘ embarrassing Europa League exit last night.

As you’ll probably know by now, the Ibrox side saw their potential European adventure ended at the first hurdle at the hands of part-time outfit Progrès Niederkorn, who stunned Pedro Caixinha and his players by winning 2-0 on the night and sealing a 2-1 aggregate victory.

A quick glance will show that Windass is taking a lot of stick for his performance, along with a lot of his colleagues, but his father has stuck his head above the parapet to defend his boy.

Josh was an unused substitute during the first-leg in Glasgow, and was only brought on for the final 32 minutes last night, as Dean pointed out this afternoon:

His defence of his son might be admirable – but Rangers fans were less than impressed by the Tweet, and by Josh’s performance in Luxembourg:

A pretty unequivocal reaction, eh?

Having played in Scotland for Aberdeen, surely Windass snr. should know better than to tweet like this about a bad result, no?

What do you think?
