Even Piers Morgan Was Impressed With Alexandre Lacazette’s First Arsenal Goal

Alexandre Lacazette scored his first goal for Arsenal during this afternoon’s pre-season friendly against Sydney FC… and even Piers Morgan was impressed.

Morgan has become a highly divisive character among the Arsenal support, having followed the Gunners since childhood.

The Good Morning Britain host lead the charge for Arsene Wenger to leave the Emirates last season, as Arsenal failed to secure Champions League football.

In fact, it’s becoming increasingly impossible for Arsenal to do anything to impress Morgan.

Even as his team lifted the FA Cup following a sensational victory over Chelsea, he sent this scathing Tweet where he slated the club’s manager:

However, there does seem to a bit of light at the end of the tunnel for Morgan, with Arsenal splashing out on new signing Lacazette.

The Frenchman looked lively against Sydney FC as he made his pre-season debut, scoring the second goal of a 2-0 victory, earning praise from the club’s hardest-to-please supporter:

The ex-Lyon striker has been compared to Arsenal legend Ian Wright this week.

Surely, if he comes anywhere close to plundering the amount of goals that Wrighty did during his time at Highbury, Morgan will ease up?
