Michael Owen is being trolled on Twitter today after the former Liverpool and Real Madrid striker appeared to suggest he wasn’t convinced Romelu Lukaku could cut it at Manchester United.
Owen – who turned his former fans at Liverpool against him when he signed for United back in 2009 – has been giving his thoughts on Lukaku and his proposed £75 million transfer to Old Trafford from Everton.
Having been up there competing with Harry Kane as one of the Premier League’s top-scorers for the past three seasons, Lukaku might have proved his talents to most people – but not to Owen:
Is the Lukaku deal done yet? He's still a player I'm not 100% convinced by but he bangs in the goals. At 75m is it good business all round?

Of course, as we’ve told you several times in the past, Owen is no stranger to being trolled online, and at this point we’re wondering whether or not he should even be on social media at all:
You aren't 100%
Club goals before age of 23:
Ronaldo – 194
Raul – 145
Messi – 127
Aguero – 124
Lukaku – 119

If stones is worth 50 and not done a thing .. then 75 mil for a striker that's shown he can do it in prem in an average side .. Bargain !!

Please explain why your not convinced?? Of any of the strikers United linked to (lots) ur not convinced by him?

Still not convinced by your awful commentary Michael but you still banged the goals in ?

Not convinced?! What's a strikers job 1st and foremost score goals? Bit backward that.

There’s plenty more, but you get the gist.
Please, for his own sake, Mrs. Owen, take his phone away from him now. It’s for the best.
