The former United and Everton defender shared a picture of Lukaku in a Red Devils shirt on Instagram yesterday evening, the first time it had been seen online and a clear indication that a move was in the works.
Since then, the Old Trafford club have confirmed that they have agreed a fee for the Belgian striker and Neville’s scoop looked bang on.
Now he’s gone for two in two days by sharing a picture of Wayne Rooney in an Everton shirt, getting involved in the speculation surrounding a possible Goodison Park return for the United captain:
Somehow we think Neville is just joking about this scoop – instead sharing a picture of Rooney when we wore an Everton kit in Duncan Ferguson’s testimonial two years ago.
That said, Rooney to Everton looks like a serious possibility, particularly after Lukaku’s deal was agreed.
Rooney played inconsistently last season and now appears out of Jose Mourinho’s plans going into the new season so maybe a switch to Everton could revitalise his career as it approaches its end.
