Jim White Trends on Twitter After Giving His Wayne Rooney to Everton Update

Jim White is trending on Twitter this morning after giving his own update on Wayne Rooney’s potential move to Everton.

The talkSPORT presenter said on his show this morning that “it’s almost inevitable Wayne Rooney will be back at Everton” after being told by someone “from the top”.

Rooney will be at the centre of more and more speculation as the summer moves on after a very frustrating season under Jose Mourinho.

Despite the Portuguese manager saying he would play a big part in his first campaign at the club, the United captain only started 25 games last season and largely played second fiddle to Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcus Rashford.

Ibrahimovic may be gone now, but Rashford is still one of United’s main men and you’d expect Mourinho to strengthen in attack before the beginning of the season.

So where does that leave Rooney? According to White – who has a close tie to club owner Farhad Moshiri – it’s back at Goodison Park.

And White’s comments have led to a lot of discussion on social media since:

Would Rooney be a good signing for Everton though?
