Kris Commons Shares Hospital Bed Picture After Back Surgery

Kris Commons shared some sore-looking pictures from his hospital bed after undergoing back surgery.

The former Celtic midfielder is now a free agent, but is expected to make a return to football once he’s recovered from some serious back surgery.

That back denied him any competitive action for the Hoops throughout his final year at the club and now he’s decided to get it fixed so he can get back playing for what should be the last team of his career.

It’s unclear who Commons will play for as his family are going to stay in Scotland, but this Instagram post suggests he’s firmly focused on returning to the game once his body recovers:

That looks like a big operation for Commons, whose only competitive action of last season came during an emergency loan spell at Hibs.

It could be Neil Lennon and the Hibees who decide to go for Commons if he can recover and prove his fitness at some point throughout next season.

Back surgery is a difficult one to recover from, but, if he can, the Englishman could be a big hit at Easter Road.

He played 226 times, scored 91 goals and lifted eight major trophies in seven seasons at Celtic.
