Manchester United Fans Aren’t Keen On New Grey Kit As It Brings Back Bad Memories

Manchester United have unveiled their new third kit for the season ahead.

The new release will see the club wearing a grey strip for the first time in more than 20 years.

The last grey kit worn by United was under Sir Alex Ferugson back in the 1995/96 season during a 3-1 defeat to Southampton.

During that infamous game, Fergie’s side trailed 3-0 at half-time before emerging for the second half wearing a completely different blue and white strip.

It emerged the reason for the switch was that the players were struggling to see each other due to the grey-coloured kit.

But that didn’t stop United chiefs from going ahead this time round after the new strip was designed by a fan.

However, a number of Red Devils remain unconvinced on Twitter and have dragged up their bad memories from the past:

Jose Mourinho’s men continued their impressive pre-season form with a 2-0 win over rivals Manchester City in Houston last night.

New signing Romelu Lukaku netted the first before youngster Marcus Rashford sealed the win for United.

The Europa League winners will now take on Champions League holders Real Madrid in the Uefa Super Cup Final on Tuesday before a friendly against fellow La Liga giants Barcelona a few days later.
