Romelu Lukaku Has Made History for Man United and He Hasn’t Played a Game Yet

Manchester United’s newest recruit Romelu Lukaku has already smashed a club record… despite having only signed from Everton on Monday.

Jose Mourinho parted with a substantial fee of £75 million to sign the striker, who scored 25 goals in the Premier League last season.

However, Lukaku’s first achievement as a United player has came before he’s played a minute of football in the club’s famous red shirt.

The 24-year-old has just broken United’s social media record after the Tweet which announced a transfer fee had been agreed with Everton – became the club’s most Re-Tweeted post of all time.

With over 93,000 fans sharing the post via Twitter, Lukaku has eclipsed the 88,000 Re-Tweets that Paul Pogba earned last summer, after securing his return from Juventus.

Although it appears Lukaku isn’t quite as dominant on Instagram.

As the same announcement on the picture-based networking site sits in second place behind the trophy-lift photo from United’s UEFA Europa League final victory from last season.

Now for the ex-Toffees hitman to do his talking on the pitch…
