Joe Garner made it five goals from three pre-season games for Ipswich last night as he scored two in a win against Peterborough.
The Englishman was a £750,000 signing for the Tractor Boys earlier this summer – bringing to an end his mixed experience during one solitary season at Rangers.
He scored 10 goals in 34 matches and made more headlines for his song off the pitch than for anything positive he did on it.
But Gers fans may be feeling a sense of regret with Garner now moved on and hitting the net straight away for Ipswich.
He’s scored five goals in three games for Mick McCarthy’s side during pre-season and his latest two goals show what he could be offering to Pedro Caixinha’s team right now.
Garner actually had a hand in Ipswich’s first goal of the night and then went on to add two of his own in the 3-1 win:
That’ll make for difficult viewing for those Rangers fans who believe Garner should have been given more of a chance by Caixinha moving into the new season.
The Portuguese manager has overseen a raft of changes to his squad so far this summer, but that’s failed to reap immediate rewards with Rangers struggling going forward in their shock Europa League qualifying exit at the hands of Luxembourg minnows Progres Niederkorn.
Rangers fans – do you regret letting Garner go?
