The whole Liverpool squad went on video to say thanks to Lucas after his exit to Lazio was confirmed.
It was no secret that the Serie A club were interested in signing the Brazilian midfielder as his Anfield exit creeped closer.
But it’s still hit the Reds hard, with supporters as sad to see him go as the players are.
Liverpool’s media team got some cameras in front of the whole squad as they, led by Jordan Henderson, Daniel Sturridge, James Milner, Alberto Moreno and Simon Mignolet, said their thanks to Lucas after his service to the club.
He signed for Liverpool from Gremio in 2007 and went on to make 344 appearances for the club, firmly settling on Merseyside and becoming a fans’ favourite.
So it will be emotional for supporters seeing the squad talking to camera and spilling their feelings on Lucas:

Lucas saw the message – and responded himself on Twitter:
Liverpool are in Honk Kong on the next leg of their pre-season tour and will play in the Premier League Asia Trophy – so there’ll be no chance to dwell on Lucas’ exit.
Jurgen Klopp has a big job on strengthening his squad for the new campaign where the team will be expected to improve on their trophy-less, fourth place Premier League finish from last term.
