Video: Simon Mignolet Sees Funny Side of Being Ignored at Medal Giving

Simon Mignolet saw the funny side of being ignored while picking up his Premier League Asia Trophy medal.

The Liverpool goalkeeper collected his medal after his side beat Leicester 2-1 in Hong Kong earlier today.

Islam Slimani had given the Foxes the lead in the first half, but goals from Mohamed Salah and Philippe Coutinho turned the game in Liverpool’s favour and they saw out the rest of it to win.

Sky Sports carried the game on TV and their cameras caught Mignolet being ignored by the event organisers as they handed out medals.

Mignolet obviously notices it, but saw the funny side of it when sharing on Twitter. He wrote: “I tried to be friendly.”

Apart from the lack of a handshake, Mignolet had a good couple of days in Honk Kong with Liverpool’s PL Asia Trophy win.

They beat Crystal Palace 2-0 in midweek and followed it up with a 2-1 victory, continuing a decent pre-season so far.
