West Ham United may have scored one of the ugliest goals of the season tonight… and the new campaign hasn’t even started yet.
The Hammers are in Austria for pre-season training, with Slaven Bilic’s side having faced local rivals Fulham at the Sportzentrum Graz-Weinzödl.
And the result went according to plan, as goals from Manuel Lanzini and Ashley Fletcher were enough to secure a victory for the Premier League outfit.
What didn’t go to plan, however, was Fulham goalkeeper David Button’s evening.
In the first-half the 28-year-old shot-stopper nervously collected the ball on the edge of his area.
And with Fletcher rapidly closing in, Button’s awful first-touch allowed the Hammers youngster to pounce.
Unfortunately what followed was one of the most absurd goals you’re likely to see, one that truly belonged on a pre-season tour… never to be seen again.
Surely Javier Hernandez, who is expected to complete a move to the London Stadium in the next few days, will bring a bit more elegance to West Ham’s front line?
