Virgil Van Dijk Saga Takes Another Twist as He’s Left Out of Southampton’s French Trip

Virgil van Dijk’s transfer saga has taken another twist after he was left out of their pre-season trip to France.

The Dutchman has been linked with a move away from the club for what seems like forever, but so far no interested party has came up with a deal that Southampton are happy with.

Liverpool had to withdraw from the race after some complaints over their approach to sign him – even though they now appear to be back interested in the defender – and Chelsea and Arsenal have both been linked too.

So all three clubs should be interested in recent developments with van Dijk.

Saints manager Mauricio Pellegrino confirmed the former Celtic man wants to leave the club and will train on his own until it all comes to a resolution.

And it’s no surprise van Dijk has now been left behind as Southampton travel to France for the next stage of their pre-season.

Pellegrino’s squad for the trip was revealed on earlier and van Dijk was nowhere to be seen.

Given the way things are going, you have to think that it’s unlikely van Dijk will be a Southampton player come the end of the summer transfer window.

But who will spend enough to make the Saints sell?
