Will Celtic sign a striker in the coming days amid fears over Leigh Griffiths’ fitness?
That could be on the cards, according to Clyde Superscoreboard’s Alison Conroy, who insists Griffiths didn’t start tonight’s win over Partick Thistle because he was feeling a calf injury again.
The striker has missed previous weeks of the season so far due to injury, joining Moussa Dembele in struggling for fitness.
While Dembele will be out until next month as he recovers from a hamstring issue, Griffiths should be in contention to play Astana.
But, according to Conroy, he’s not fully over that calf problem and Brendan Rodgers will now look to sign another striker to back his existing pair up:

That would be music to the ears of Celtic fans, who have had to watch their team go without a recognised striker more than they would have liked throughout the last 12 months.
But who would Rodgers get to play as a third-choice striker? If Dembele and Griffiths get back to fitness, he’ll have to spend a lot of time on the bench so it has to be a frontman willing to bide his time for a chance.
