Fernando Torres Tips Steven Gerrard to be a Top Manager

Fernando Torres believes Steven Gerrard will be a top manager whenever he decides to take on a first team top job.

The Atletico Madrid striker knows the Liverpool legend very well from the time they spent together at Anfield and formed a very fruitful attacking partnership together over four years.

So the Spaniard should know what Gerrard had that made him one of the best midfielders in the world.

And that’s obviously given him some indication of how good the Englishman could be as a manager.

Speaking just days ahead of the kick-off in the Premier League, which Liverpool are 20/1 to win with SportNation.com, Torres spoke about his former team-mate Gerrard and how he’s got what it takes to manage at the top:

So Torres also believes Gerrard should one day become Liverpool manager?

He’s currently coaching the club’s Under 18 side and could be pushed through the ranks to finally replace Jurgen Klopp whenever his time at Anfield ends.

But that’s not the most important thing for the club right now as they focus on the league campaign kicking off against Watford at the weekend.

Liverpool are sure to be aiming to win the title, challenging Chelsea’s crown as champions.

Manchester United should also have something to say about that, as well as Tottenham, who finished last term in second and will want to go one better this time around.

They’ve managed to keep hold of star man Harry Kane, who’s priced at 4/1 with SportNation.bet to be the league’s top scorer, and a stronger start to the season could put them in a better position come the end.
