Kieran Tierney gave a brilliantly Scottish response to Conor McGregor‘s tweet praising Celtic fans.
The Green Brigade section of the Hoops support returned to Parkhead last night with a banner display that was inspired by the UFC superstar.
It had Tierney, Brendan Rodgers and Scott Brown in a crest alongside the words: “We’re not here to take part, we’re here to take over.”
Those words were famously said by McGregor at the start of meteoric rise to the top of the fight game.
And after seeing the picture of the banner, the Irishman took to Twitter to praise the Celtic fans for how they support their club:
That’s delighted the Hoops faithful – Tierney included. And the Celtic full-back provided a simply Scottish reply that should make all supporters laugh:

That’s probably what every other Scottish Celtic fan thought when they saw McGregor’s post.
The banner display came before a stunning 5-0 win for Brendan Rodgers’ side against Astana in the first leg of their Champions League playoff at Celtic Park.
That result puts the Hoops effectively in the group stages of the competition so you can understand the positivity around the club and their fans today.
