Kyle Lafferty Takes Pelters For His Performance v Celtic

Kyle Lafferty is officially back in the Scottish Premiership – and he’s unsurprisingly taking pelters.

The Northern Irishman signed for Hearts in the summer and has been leading their line throughout a disappointing Betfred Cup group stage campaign.

Despite scoring four goals in four games in that competition, he could do nothing to avoid his team’s embarrassing exit from the competition.

So Lafferty would have been hoping to make fans forget all about that exit, and the sacking of Ian Cathro, in today’s opening Premiership campaign against Celtic.

Unfortunately for Lafferty and Hearts, that didn’t quite go to plan as they lost 4-1 to the Scottish champions.

And the former Rangers striker took pelters for his performance in the game:

It’s never dull when Lafferty is in Scottish football.

Hearts will now be hoping to improve over the next week before travelling to Rugby Park to play Kilmarnock in the Premiership.

Will they have a new manager by then? If not, Jon Daly should still be in charge on an interim basis.
