Man Utd Turned Down Signing Isco in 2013 Because of a Truly Bizarre Reason

Manchester United were terrorised by an in-from Isco in the European Super Cup Final last night, but the scheming Spain international could’ve been playing for opposite teams – if his head was a little smaller.

The 25-year-old is currently playing some of the most impressive and vibrant football of his career, and has even managed to break into Los Blancos’ fearsome ‘BBC’ attacking trident.

He scored in last night’s 2-1 victory over United in Macedonia and, according to ESPN, Isco was seriously considered by the Red Devils towards the end of Sir Alex Ferguson’s reign.

Apparently, a chief scout was sent to watch Isco in action for his former club Malaga, but the report came back saying: “He’s good, but not quite quick enough and his head is too big for his body.”

Have you ever heard of a player being turned down for such a bizarre reason? And, if you stare at him for long enough, maybe he does have a slightly larger cranium than the average man, but it’s not exactly noticeable, is it?

What do you think?
