Paddy Power Slaughtered by Irish Fans After Floyd Mayweather Wears Their Boxers

Paddy Power have been slaughtered by Irish fans after Floyd Mayweather wore their boxers for the weigh-in of his fight against Conor McGregor.

Dubbed as one of the biggest events in sports history, the 49-0 boxing legend will go up against the Irish UFC superstar in Las Vegas tonight.

The fight has captured the imagination of the sporting world despite the apparent mismatch between the fighters in a boxing ring.

But that won’t stop Irish fans supporting arguably their biggest star as he tries to shock the world and end Mayweather’s unbeaten record.

And they would have probably expected their biggest bookmaker, Paddy Power, to be doing the same thing.

Yet that hasn’t materialised after Betsafe landed the promotional work with McGregor in the build-up to the fight – and it seems Paddy Power decided to side with Floyd in an attempt to get in on the pre-fight hype.

Both fighters were part of a huge public weigh-in last night and Mayweather stripped down to just his Paddy Power boxers as he stood on the scales:

That’s led to a lot of stick for Paddy Power, with plenty Irish fans saying they’ll be using Betsafe from now on as a result:

Should Paddy Power be worried about the reaction? Or is it yet more quality marketing from the bookmakers?
