The former Rangers winger was in Mark Warburton’s starting XI for the visit of Boro to the City Ground this afternoon.
He’s played pretty well since making the move south from Ibrox, scoring on his debut in the Championship against Millwall.
And McKay followed that up with a goal against Middlesbrough today, latching on to a nice through ball to fire home:
It ended up being pretty important for Forest too, with Daryl Murphy adding a second before Ben Gibson pulled one back late on for Middlesbrough.
And it won’t make for great viewing for Rangers fans, who watched their team fail to inspire in front of goal today as they drew 0-0 with Hearts at Ibrox.
If that wasn’t bad enough, Joe Garner and Martyn Waghorn also got on the scoresheet for Ipswich while Michael O’Halloran hit the net for St Johnstone.
